Regular Activities

Greeters

Volunteers greet people as they come to each service Sunday for both services and for any special services such as funerals, Christmas Eve services, etc.

Choir

Each Sunday at the 10:30 Services and any special services; practice Thursday evening at 7:30

Out of the Cold

Glenview will resume participating in the Out of the Cold program in the fall of 2023. Dinner is provided on Sundays from early November to the end of March.

Seasonal Activities

Wide variety of tasks for

·       events such as the Anniversary service,

·       decoration of the church for Advent, Christmas and Easter seasons,

·       distribution of flowers each Sunday and homemade baking from time to time to home-bound members,

·       spring garden preparation of the Church flower gardens, planting annuals, fall cleanup,

etc …

Buck-a- Book

Shelves of donated books are organized and available for sale for $1 per book and those that do not sell are donated to charities and others who need books.

Women’s Interest Network

Meets Mondays at 1 p.m. with a broad range of activities to respond to the group’s needs and interests related to outreach and congregational activities.

Communion Preparation and Service

Meets on the Saturday and early Sunday morning prior to Communion services to prepare the trays and the Communion table.  Servers required for the Communion services.

Retired Men’s Club

Meets every second Thursday, September to April, for lunch, with presentations on interesting topics.

Funeral Reception Committee

If the family wishes a reception in the Church Hall after the funeral service, volunteers prepare the Hall, lay out and serve food and beverages as requested, and clean up after the reception.

Coffee Hour Fellowship

Preparation of coffee and tea and cookies Sunday morning before the service and serving and clean-up after the 10:30 service.

Ceilidh Club

An adult group that meets for organized outings to Shaw Festival and dinners etc.

Recurring events – Volunteers are always needed to assist with set-up, participation in the events and clean-up
